In June 2008 we opened our new Training and Assessment centre in Barking
Due to a continual shortage of competent skilled labour in the construction industry the Newtown Group have committed to a training and assessment programme to deliver skilled labour to construction projects throughout the UK and Europe.
FORMWORK ACADEMY
The Centre will host the Newtown Formwork Academy, which will deliver NVQ2's to all Newtown Trainee's
We work closely with all Trainee's and take them through the whole process of obtaining an NVQ level 2 through the OSAT Scheme.
We have our own qualified Instructor's & on site Assessor's.
we will help the Candidate complile all course work and give additional training at the Centre as required to help them achieve each module on the course.
This facility is also very useful in helping our Clients achieve the Section 106 and Local Labour Bill requirements where local unemployed, unskilled Trainee's should be recruited. Newtown can assist through the whole process from interviewing and assessing local Candidates, to providing basic training off-site before taking them through the full qualification on-site.
FORMWORK ACCESSION COURSE
This 1-week course has been designed to give Candidates a basic insight into working in the Formwork Industry and will teach Health & Safety and modern system shuttering techniques allowing each candidate to participate in the striking and erection of decks and columns.
CSCS training is taught as standard and those who do not have the basic card will obtain it on this course.
This course is used by local authorites "back to work incentive schemes" and for Contractors to give their Trainee's an introduction to the Industry.
